1. What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how NEMEQ (“NEMEQ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website and study platform. It applies to information you provide directly and information created when you use NEMEQ.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use NEMEQ, we may collect:

• Account information, such as your name, email address, profile details, and authentication information handled through our sign-in provider.
• Study content, such as courses, exams, syllabi, uploaded documents or images, questions, answers, notes, and messages sent to The Thinker.
• Study activity and performance information, such as session history, response accuracy, response timing, confidence, review behavior, reflections, progress, mastery signals, and exam-readiness estimates.
• Technical and security information needed to operate the service, such as device, browser, network, log, and authentication-session information.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot NEMEQ.
• Organize your courses and exams and save your study history.
• Generate study explanations, practice, recommendations, retention signals, and other features you request.
• Personalize study experiences based on your actual activity and performance.
• Personalize studying based on current account data, observed study activity, and qualifying academic evidence—not remembered chat details.
• Detect misuse, protect users, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
• Understand service reliability and improve NEMEQ. We do not treat a single response, reflection, or familiar-topic preference as proof of academic mastery.

4. AI-assisted features

NEMEQ uses AI to help explain concepts, create practice, and respond to study requests. AI can be wrong, incomplete, outdated, or misleading. Always check important information against your course materials, instructor guidance, official sources, and assessment rules.

When you use an AI-assisted feature, NEMEQ may send your prompt, relevant study context, and the material needed to answer your request to an AI service provider. Do not enter information into The Thinker or upload a document if you are not comfortable with that information being processed to provide the requested feature.

The Thinker does not use conversation history as long-term teaching memory. It uses the current request and relevant NEMEQ studying data, such as course and exam context, observed study activity, and qualifying academic evidence. Conversation records may still be retained as account history as described in this policy.

NEMEQ does not use AI outputs as a substitute for your own judgment or for a teacher, examiner, or other qualified professional.

5. Uploads and document privacy

Only upload documents, images, questions, or other material that you own or are allowed to share. Uploaded material may contain private, academic, or identifying information, so review it before sending it to NEMEQ.

Do not upload passwords, financial information, health information, confidential school or workplace records, another person’s private information, or restricted exam content unless you have a clear legal right and permission to do so. No online service is completely secure, and you upload material at your own risk.

6. When we share information

We may share information with service providers that help us operate NEMEQ, including authentication, hosting, storage, database, security, analytics, and AI providers. These providers may process information only as needed to provide services to us and are expected to protect it.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to a valid legal process, to protect the rights and safety of NEMEQ or another person, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets. We do not sell your study content.

7. Your choices and rights

You can review and update information available through your account. You can also stop using NEMEQ at any time. Signed-in users can export their account data or request account deletion directly from Account Settings; this securely associates the request with the correct account. NEMEQ does not currently offer a separate channel for access, correction, or other privacy requests.

New Thinker chats are not added to saved account history unless you turn on “Save this chat to history” before the first message. A current unsaved chat may remain temporarily in this browser tab so a refresh does not erase it, but it is not stored as saved server-side history. Saved chats are not used as long-term teaching memory. You can review or delete saved chats and include them in an account-data export.

Images attached to an unsaved Thinker chat are uploaded privately for analysis and removed after the response. If an upload is abandoned before sending, or belongs to a saved chat, it is automatically deleted within 24 hours of its most recent use.

A deletion request covers account-linked study materials and activity, including courses, exams, uploaded materials, study history, and AI conversations or attached images. Some information may need to be retained when required by law, needed to resolve disputes, protect security, or maintain reliable records. Copies in backups or held by service providers may remain for a limited retention period before they are overwritten or deleted.

8. Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide NEMEQ, maintain your account and study history, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure.

9. Children’s privacy

NEMEQ is not directed to children who are below the minimum age required to use online services in their location. If you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review and remove it where required.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as NEMEQ changes. When we make a material change, we will update the date at the top and provide notice through the service or another appropriate channel.
